Overview:
This position, which reports to the School-age Director for assigned District, supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This Preschool Coordinator oversees the development and operations of their designated before and after wrap-around Preschool programs for the association, while incorporating our Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusion.

This position will supervise Cambridge Park Preschool wrap-around site and 4 others in the district.

Responsibilities:
Provides a safe environment for program participants, surveying space daily for safety issues and red flags.

Provides for upkeep of assigned preschool program facility space, assigned shared classrooms, and the equipment, while ensuring the physical environment supports healthy living.

Develops and maintains relationships with the families we serve, and other organizations and agencies related to assigned program. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

Help to grow enrollment in program to licensing capacity.

Be a Childcare program Ambassador, ensuring staff team has the appropriate training and professional development through the year to improve quality of our program.

Attends monthly meetings with supervisor and provides supervisor, and the Student Behavior Specialist, weekly updates on any student behavioral issues in the program.

Attends mandatory training assigned by supervisor.

Provides camp supervision during summer season for assigned program.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, recreation, business or equivalent.

At least three years’ experience working in a licensed preschool classroom/childcare center.

Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff and volunteers, assist in program development and growth.

Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.

Proven track record of developing relationships with others, ie: families and community served.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with any partnering school districts and/or community organizations.

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required; or acquire within 30 days.
