Description
SUMMARY: Plan, lead and participate in the internal audit activities of AAR's internal audit function by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and participates in the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing and other compliance-related procedures and activities.
- Leads and assists with operational and financial audits of AAR operating units and support functions.
- Prepares documentation to support audit work performed.
- Drafts audit findings and recommendations for issues identified and discusses/validates these with business and audit management.
- Monitors and follows through on issues/problems discovered during audit process to final resolution and implementation.
- Identifies business risks to evaluate and improve the underlying business processes and internal controls, as well as ways of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
- Assist with special projects, investigations, and department administrative tasks as necessary.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Possesses expert knowledge of general accounting methods, principles, and practices and the ability to apply this knowledge.
- Possesses strong decision-making and follow through abilities.
- Possesses ability to write reports and business correspondence, and to effectively present detailed information to management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in accounting from four-year college or university; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 6 years audit experience (internal or external) with large public companies.
- Previous multi-national, manufacturing, aviation/aerospace industry experience(s) a plus.
- Proficiency with desktop Microsoft applications.
- Experience with Infor/Lawson a plus.
