Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated Construction Estimator who is eager to grow their career in a supportive environment. This role will play a crucial part in supporting our project management team on new builds, tenant improvements, remodels, and renovations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for various project scopes including site work, structural, concrete, enclosure, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Document Management: Collect and review all pertinent documents, including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Negotiation: Engage with service providers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Project Planning: Develop work plans to assess the time required for project completion and outline timelines effectively.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential project deviations and implement mitigation strategies.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.
- Code Compliance: Navigate and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Bid Development: Prepare and submit bids for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Review and process shop drawings and submittals.
- Conduct pre-bid inspections and evaluations.
- Prepare instructions for bidders and manage the invited bidders' list.
- Update and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Interact with clients, attend project meetings, and collaborate with architects.
- Education & Experience: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting construction plans and designs; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
