Position Summary

Reporting to the Service Line Leader, Not-For-Profit, the Principal, Not-For-Profit Audit will drive growth and revenue through external client engagements and strong collaboration across the company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the non-profit sector and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of audit engagements for our selected non-profit clients. Ideally, this person will have a strong business development bias and have an established client base.

What will you do in this role?

  1. Leader of the NFP Northern Illinois Team
  2. Business Development of new NFP leads in Northern Illinois
  3. Drive project and team management with the Northern Illinois NFP group
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with non-profit clients, providing exceptional client service and addressing their unique needs.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  6. Mentor and develop audit staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional growth.
  7. Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive services to non-profit clients.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and developments, and proactively identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the non-profit audit practice.
  9. Participate in business development activities, including networking, proposal writing, and presentations to prospective clients.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  1. Strong leadership and team management
  2. Technical experience in NFP Industry - 15 years, CPA required
  3. Strong business development and history of growth
  4. Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
  5. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
