How you can make a bigger difference:

The Cedar Knolls House (Bronx) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescents aged 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/development issues. Cedar Knolls House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assist youth towards reaching independence. The Clinical Director has full responsibility for the ongoing clinical and administrative guidance of the clinical staff members, providing ongoing training, supervision, and guidance to staff.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing regularly scheduled supervision to all clinical staff members, including evaluations; providing training through regular supervision; ensuring appropriate supervision of all program interns, either through direct supervision or by overseeing the clinical supervision provided by the social worker.
  2. Evaluating/assessing treatment and service plans; running case conferences; may carry a caseload, and run specialized groups.
  3. Active participant in the intake process for new referrals, and reviews client’s ongoing service plan; ensures that the clinical needs of the client are met.
  4. Is a key staff resource for community outreach efforts and may perform such outreach and establish linkages with other groups, individuals, or organizations which may be helpful to our clients.
  5. Providing all necessary notes, progress notes, Risk Assessments, etc. as required.
  6. May cover for Director in his/her absence.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A Master’s degree in Social Work, plus NY State Licensure (LCSW) is required.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of related experience, including a minimum of 1 year of direct clinical supervision; specialized experience with residential treatment.
  3. A current, valid clean Driver’s license is required for this position.
