The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) seek a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. Our comprehensive outpatient pain center continues to grow in the range and complexity of subacute and chronic pain conditions treated. This interdisciplinary pain management program is located in a state of the art facility, which offers individually designed interdisciplinary treatment programs and an ongoing outpatient pain management practice. The Pain Management Center also serves as a primary site for the training of residents and fellows in our ACGME approved training programs and our extensive research efforts in the area of pain management.
Responsibilities include leading a team that specializes in pain management which includes physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, nurse educators, and vocational rehabilitation counselors. The opportunity to develop an interventional spine practice is also available. Clinical practice dedicated to pain management is a component of this position. The leader is expected to provide and lead teaching activities with residents and fellows, and to conduct research.
The candidate must possess the following qualifications: be Board certified in Pain Management with at least seven years of clinical experience beyond residency training, preferred to have demonstrated research expertise in pain management supported by peer-reviewed publications. In addition, the candidate should show demonstrated leadership abilities and interpersonal skills and qualify for faculty appointment in the Department of PMR at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
