About the Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified Building Services Director (BSD), that enjoys working with Seniors, and being part of a team to oversee maintenance and housekeeping and the upkeep of our senior living community in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the facility is safe, clean, and well-maintained at all times. They will work closely with our management team to include Sales and Marketing to develop and implement maintenance plans, apartment/unit turn scheduling and completion, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Building Services Director will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents!
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, with a focus on building maintenance and operations and oversight of environmental/housekeeping department.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Certification in these areas is A +!
- Experience in computer use: Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer-based tools and apps, managing budgets and overseeing the work of maintenance staff, contractors and housekeeping associates.
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of associates and residents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field
- Experience working in a senior living or healthcare facility
- Certification in facilities management or a related field
- Experience with project management and construction management
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including ADA, NFPA, OSHA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the facility
- Manage budgets and ensure that all maintenance and housekeeping activities are cost-effective, safe and completed timely
- Oversee the work of maintenance staff, housekeepers and contractors, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and local building codes
- Collaborate with management team to identify and address any issues or concerns related to the facility
- Full Time Hourly (Eligible for benefits)
- Schedule: Sunday thru Thursday or Tuesday thru Saturday
