This position is for a (Welder A) located in Pascagoula, MS.Summary:We are seeking an experienced Welder Lead A to supervise the activities of a group of hourly welders. The primary responsibility is to ensure that welding tasks meet company quality and safety standards within the production schedule, in the most cost-effective manner. This role works under the general direction of a Foreman, Superintendent, or other plant management position.Duties and Responsibilities: Primary Responsibility: Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions. Material Knowledge: Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process. Tank Testing: Performs tank testing and associated duties as required. Welding Proficiency: Ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions, based on the certifications being sought. Experience/Training: Prior experience as a welder or vocational training in welding is acceptable.VT Halter Marine is an EOE/AAP Employer.
