Objective:
Responsible for preparing contracts negotiating contract terms, evaluating bids and researching current specifications and regulations. Contract specialist will draft and edit contracts, demonstrating excellent attention to detail abilities as well as being an excellent communicator. This position would have in depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology.
Essential Responsibilities
Working with your commercial and operations teams:
  • Oversee contract negotiations and review contract agreements for installation of lift systems in acute care and long-term care environments.
  • Create and maintain commercial contract templates for distributors, reps, product and service agreements, PEP's.
  • Prepare and edit contracts between Guldmann and potential clients
  • Assess contract performance to identify the need for amendments to existing contracts.
  • Handle breach of contract in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a point of contact for outside contracting representatives.
  • Advisory to Operations contracts.
  • Develop and implement effective contract proposals.
  • Research regulations pertaining to safe patient handling and construction to guarantee contracts are updated and in compliance with laws.
  • Coordinate with clients to guarantee terms of contracts are fulfilled in compliance with the contract terms and regulations.
  • Collect historical data to estimate pricing of current or future product pricing.
  • Review and prepare estimates used by Commercial sales team and Operations for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work in bids or pricing of projects.
  • Maintain reporting processes for cost estimates and procedures.
  • Writing of SOPs for contract /proposal processing and roll out/execution.
  • RFP management and writing.
  • Government rules and regulations for contract submissions pertaining to installation projects.
  • Ownership of contract maintenance & compliance (filing of electronic and hardcopies, manage expiration dates and renewals)
  • Participate in both RFP tending pitches and business reviews with clients, when called upon.
Specific operations tasks associated with GC subcontracts:
  • Verify and validate quoted scope with salesperson and resolve any gaps
  • Review subcontract and contrast with Guldmann's standard T&Cs
  • Review and address any insurance gaps with GC, and request COI
  • Submit subcontract to Operations for executive review
  • Manage subcontract execution and notification to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Upload, filing and maintenance of executed subcontracts

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred. Some legal or business background would be a strong asset
  • 4 +years' experience working with contracts either in a procurement or value sourcing capacity, preferably related to healthcare and/or the construction industry. Experience with government contracts will be greatly valued
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Analytical and attention to detail.
  • Travel 5-10% in USA.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft 365, with word and excel strong. Basecamp and smartsheet
