Summary:
The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe with its ancestral homeland located in Niobrara, NE. The Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services within its Service Delivery Area.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides direction and leadership in achieving or modifying the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska (PTN) Tribal Health philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals ensuring continuous patient satisfaction.
- Oversees management of expansion projects and formulates long and short-range plans to address existing Indian health care needs.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with outside organizations, committees, boards, and education institutions to promote PTN efforts.
- Works closely with the Tribal Council to ensure integration of clinic programs and tribal health programs.
- Directly supervises multiple team leaders to ensure effective delivery and coordination of services.
- Oversees management of specific projects assigned by Tribal Council.
- Establishes and maintains positive partnerships across divisions, departments, and functional lines.
- Obtains and maintains accreditation, ensuring clinic staff is engaged in accreditation efforts.
- Directs formulation of yearly budgets and ensures compliance with funding contracts.
- Provides reports to the Tribal Council including statistical data and analysis.
- Enforces client confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA laws.
- Coordinates strategic planning and updates for all clinic services.
- Frequent travel to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska clinics in Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk, NE.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in health, business, public administration or equivalent.
- Two years minimum in related administrative health care experience in the Indian Health Service.
- Three years of project management experience.
- Five years managing a clinic with a budget over $10,000,000.
- Experience developing multi-functional clinical environments.
- Three years of supervisory experience.
- One year of grant and budget management.
- One year of procurement administration.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable.
- Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
- Able and willing to travel.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in health, business, public administration or equivalent.
- Three years minimum in related administrative health care experience in the Indian Health Service.
- Working knowledge of Public Law 93-638 (Indian Self-Determination Act).
- Professional Health Licensure/Experience.
Preference will be given to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska members or members of a federally recognized tribe. However, all qualified individuals are eligible.
