Summary:

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe with its ancestral homeland located in Niobrara, NE. The Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services within its Service Delivery Area.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Provides direction and leadership in achieving or modifying the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska (PTN) Tribal Health philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals ensuring continuous patient satisfaction.
  2. Oversees management of expansion projects and formulates long and short-range plans to address existing Indian health care needs.
  3. Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with outside organizations, committees, boards, and education institutions to promote PTN efforts.
  4. Works closely with the Tribal Council to ensure integration of clinic programs and tribal health programs.
  5. Directly supervises multiple team leaders to ensure effective delivery and coordination of services.
  6. Oversees management of specific projects assigned by Tribal Council.
  7. Establishes and maintains positive partnerships across divisions, departments, and functional lines.
  8. Obtains and maintains accreditation, ensuring clinic staff is engaged in accreditation efforts.
  9. Directs formulation of yearly budgets and ensures compliance with funding contracts.
  10. Provides reports to the Tribal Council including statistical data and analysis.
  11. Enforces client confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA laws.
  12. Coordinates strategic planning and updates for all clinic services.
  13. Frequent travel to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska clinics in Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk, NE.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in health, business, public administration or equivalent.
  2. Two years minimum in related administrative health care experience in the Indian Health Service.
  3. Three years of project management experience.
  4. Five years managing a clinic with a budget over $10,000,000.
  5. Experience developing multi-functional clinical environments.
  6. Three years of supervisory experience.
  7. One year of grant and budget management.
  8. One year of procurement administration.
  9. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  11. Valid driver’s license and insurable.
  12. Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
  13. Able and willing to travel.

Preferred:

  1. Master’s degree in health, business, public administration or equivalent.
  2. Three years minimum in related administrative health care experience in the Indian Health Service.
  3. Working knowledge of Public Law 93-638 (Indian Self-Determination Act).
  4. Professional Health Licensure/Experience.

Preference will be given to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska members or members of a federally recognized tribe. However, all qualified individuals are eligible.
