Travel Nurse RN - PCU in Hickory, NC

**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nights, 19:00 - 07:00 (alternating weekends, 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 4 years in step-down level care
**License:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with step-down level patients
- Understanding of charting and interventions for high reliability care
- Support team efforts for continuous improvement
**Job Description:**
- Orientation available twice monthly
- Responsible for providing care in a 12-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Utilize equipment such as BIPAP, chest tubes, high-flow O2, and tracheostomy management
- Document using electronic health record software
- Handle patient populations that include adults with complex diagnoses like sepsis and severe chronic pulmonary issues
- Expected to work most holidays during the initial contract
- Float to other inpatient units as needed, before core staff
- Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment
- Must exhibit excellent attendance and problem-solving skills
- Should be able to identify early signs of changes in patient conditions
- Experience with Cerner software preferred
