Location: Vernon, CA, United States 

Other Available Locations: Houston, TX, Monroe, GA

Pay Range: $128,000 - $141,000 (based on experience)

• Perform structural calculations for cold-formed and hot-rolled steel racking systems in collaboration with the Engineer-of-Record to produce and verify safe and economical designs.
• Check and approve project documents, including approval drawings, permit drawings, Revit models, and steel shop drawings.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to develop project design and scope documents, incorporating customer specifications and code requirements.
• Collaborate with design, project management, manufacturing, and sales to meet design requirements.
• Identify design issues and adhere to manufacturing requirements to find solutions.
• Track design documentation through revisions, manufacturing, and construction phases.
• Assist with standardization of parts library and drafting/modeling tools.
• Participate in clash detection and scheduling meetings to adhere to project milestones.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• 3-5 years experience within a design office or steel fabricator.
• Certification or Technical degree in a related field.
• Engineer- in- Training Required for Civil Engineering or related field.
• Highly proficient in Autodesk products including Revit, AutoCAD.
• Experience with structural analysis programs such as RISA, Dlubal or SAP
• Experience reviewing steel framing drawings per engineering specifications.
• Track record of interpreting code requirements for architectural and/or structural design drawings.

• PE License preferred or on track
• AISI Cold-formed steel design experience
