What you'll be doing...
You'll work with stakeholders to create the strategic marketing plan for public safety (Verizon Frontline) in support of the sales leadership in the public sector segment marketing organization in Verizon Business Group (VBG). You'll collaborate with groups across the shared marketing functions to drive programs and iterate quarter over quarter to ensure business objectives are being met.
Core Responsibilities will include:
- Develop public safety marketing plans in support of the public sector's business objectives aligned with the overarching VBG marketing objectives by working closely with sales, sales ops, product, strategy and other groups.
- Analyze product performance and forecasts to identify areas of needed marketing support.
- Develop solution specific marketing plans in support of the public sector's business objectives aligned with the overarching VBG marketing objectives by working closely with sales/BD, systems architects, sales ops, product, product marketing, strategy and other groups.
- Engage with the broader segment marketing team and the shared marketing teams to execute public sector-specific marketing programs, identify the most appropriate marketing tactics such as advertisements, digital marketing, CRM, speaking engagements, messaging or other, and gather and distill feedback on those activities.
- Review imagery, language, tone, to ensure messages resonate with key audiences.
- Ensure VBG-wide marketing efforts resonate with public sector and specifically public safety customers where relevant, coordinate feedback from the business unit and shared teams such as the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team.
- Review and recommend sales enablement tools such as presentations, infographics, solution briefs, fact sheets, training, white papers, and gather and distill feedback on those activities.
- Communicate with business unit leadership on marketing activities and associated results and KPIs.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Four or more years of experience in government sales or marketing.
- Experience leading a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Master's degree in business or related field, or relevant marketing work experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to communicate cross-functionally and with senior business leaders.
- Experience in thought-leadership, demand generation, sales enablement, integrated marketing campaign development, social media, preferably involving complex organizations requiring influence that extends outside the marketing realm.
- Experience with government media outlets.
- Experience managing a high-performing team.
- Allocating and managing budgets and resources against strategic priorities.
- Knowledge of government contracting market for technology and telecommunications services.
- Cultivating talent.
- Influencing key stakeholders across complex organizations.
- Familiarity with Verizon and competitors' offerings to position Verizon as the trusted partner for public sector agencies.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $114,000.00 and $232,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
