YOU
As the Pro Supply National Accounts Manager, you maintain and develop new businesses across all lines of the Simpson Strong-Tie products and services, establishing and facilitating a close working relationship with all branches and business segments to meet the Company’s business objectives. The primary account responsibility will include 84 Lumber, Carter Lumber, and other similar accounts. Prior experience in the building materials industry is strongly desired.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Maintain and grow existing programs by providing improvements to enhance or develop new business opportunities. Negotiate and execute customer VBA. Analyze sales data, pricing programs, trends and strategy with the objective of increasing market share and profitability.
- Work with the branches to drive growth by presenting and selling new products and programs across all lines of business. Work with marketing to develop sales and marketing collateral, including digital assets to support the customers' online platform.
- Develop working relationships with the customer across the organization beyond purchasing to include top leadership, regional VPs, local market, and builder managers. Facilitate introductions to Simpson sales and branch leadership.
- Work with Simpson sales and branch management, coordinating pricing programs, SKU maintenance, promotions, and contractor events. Interface with customer service management and staff to ensure customer expectations are exceeded by monitoring fill rates, back orders, and on-time delivery. Work with accounts receivable as needed on payment issues.
- Meet and communicate regularly with Simpson branch sales management to provide updates on sales trends, opportunities, potential obstacles and developing issues.
Desired Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5 years’ sales experience in related fields such as construction, building materials or account management is required.
- Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple projects, vendors and location needs while providing all customers, internal and external, with exemplary service consistent with the 9 Principles of Barclay Simpson.
- Leadership: Ability to engage and energize both Simpson and vendor teams to focus energy toward driving sales, market share, and greater understanding of the value offered by Simpson “No Equal” quality products and services.
- Communication: Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
- Computer Skills: Proficient use of computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and similar communication systems.
- Knowledge: Sound sales principles combined with strong comprehension of building practices and products.
- Travel: Ability to travel frequently both within California, to Simpson Branches and vendor branch locations.
- Driving Record: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. The noise level may be loud at times.
Travel
This position requires domestic travel up to 60% of the time.
Work Status & Location
This full-time, exempt position can work out of one of our branches (Pleasanton, CA., Riverside, CA., Stockton, CA., McKinney, TX., Columbus, OH., West Chicago, IL., Gallatin, TN.) and is open to fully Remote.
Relocation
Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$80,500 - $105,000 / year
- Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
