Role & Responsibility:

  • Promotes the patient care philosophy and objectives of the professional practice governance members by subscribing to and supporting CHW standards of care through the management of all aspects of patient care delivery, fiscal administration and professional development in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Acts as a liaison for supervisory, professional nurses, and technical staff as well as administration in planning, implementing, communicating, evaluating and coordinating patient care operations associated with CHHS's mission, vision and values.
  • Works in partnership with the Medical directors for the assigned patient care units.
Location & Schedule:
60/40 Schedule Split
  • 24 Hours/Week: Staffing/Direct Patient Care (2 - 12 hour shifts | 7:00PM - 7:00AM)
  • 16 Hours/Week: Indirect Patient Care (Office Time) | Dayshift on Monday
  • Must be able to assume 24 hour accountability for unit coverage.
Education, License, Certification:
  • Current license to practice nursing in Wisconsin.
  • Requires a professional level of knowledge in the field of nursing and/or management that is acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Two to three years clinical experience.
Skills & Experience:
  • Supervisory or related leadership experience preferred.
  • Analytical and statistical skills necessary to provide effective leadership within complex systems that cross multiple departments and outside organizations.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments
  • Communication and interpersonal skills which frequently involve collaborating with peers and supporting leaders on policy and procedural matters.
  • Provides advice and council on sensitive patient care matters, acting in a public relations capacity for issues within area of responsibility.
