RDM Group is looking for a Group Logistics Specialist to join the Purchasing & Logistics Team based in Milan, Italy. The Group Logistics Specialist will be in charge of supporting inbound and outbound logistics by assisting in planning and management of all transports, delivery process and freight costs related to sourcing, warehousing and delivering to and from mills and sheeting centers and collaborating with each site Shipping and Customer Service departments and the IBP team. The Group Logistics Specialist will bea point of referral for the management of relationships with forwarders , optimizing and tracking the overall logistics process at Group level. He/She will report to the Group Logistics Manager. Main responsibilities: Research best suppliers offers in terms of transportation , consistent with delivery service level requirements; Support continuous improvements and periodic/ annual metric targets relative to transportation expenses and service providers Review and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s); Support the Chief Procurement Officer and the Group Logistics Manager by yearly qualifying the suppliers network , according to technical capabilities, costs and service; Support planning and management of overland and overseas transport in EMEA area and overseas Control and tracks the flows to external warehouses; support the dispatch offices of all the plants of the group in delivering excellent service to customers ; Support the Chief Procurement Officer and the Group Logistics Manager in managing the relationships with service providers, as well as management of transports by sea and by land ; Develop, monitor, and maintain critical quality control points to ensure excellent process indicators ; Develop innovative logistics/transport solutions ; Optimize shipments from international sources and lead to improved delivery time and cost implications; Involvement in multiple operational projects: manage and advise on value-added activities in the areas of International Transportation and Warehousing and digitalization such as e-prucrement, TMS, transport visibility; Contribute for the process integration and collaboration with our third party providers . Maintain best in class Logistics process with third party providers staff. Main requirements: Around 3 years of experience within Supply Chain or Logistics dept, transport procurement and planning focused Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, science, or related discipline English proficiency. Another European language is very welcome; Digital mindset, ability to use IT tools and technology; Strong analytical skills Proactive approach, problem solving, flexibility and learning agility skills Availability to travel.
