Detailed Description:
â Safely utilize welding equipment, including oxy fuel torch, plasma torch, magnetic drill, and track torch
â Mark all items per Operation Procedures to allow for traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
â Create individual cut list per job to correctly cut and prep materials
â Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, tape measure, and more
â Read and interpret shop work orders
â Receive materials, parts, or components issued to a Work Order
â Verify that all materials and consumables meet the design and shop requirements.
â Label materials with Heat Numbers and Part Numbers following company procedures.
â Properly and safely load and unload materials/parts using hoist, forklift, and or by Manual means
â Properly store all raw materials in the designated areas
â Transfer all finished parts to appropriate departments
â Ensure safe and clean appearance of fabrication shop in designated area
â Ability to work safe in a yard and shop environment while wearing appropriate PPE, follow company guidelines and procedures and help ensure others do the same
â Ensure all actions are performed in accordance with Company standards to include safety, conduct, and proper use of company resources
â All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
â Pass a written test dealing with a fitter's proficiency
â Pass a physical test fitting beam and pipe.
â Pass a physical test from above from verbal instructions
â Possess the items listed in the Tool List
â Ability, knowledge, and skill to perform intermediate weldment assemblies
â Ability to keep yourself and others productive and accountable while adhering to company safety guidelines and procedures.
â Possess the items listed in the Tool List
â Interpret fabrication drawings with 80% proficiency to ensure compliance to weld design
â Proficient at assembling and disassembling of parts and components required to complete the job scope.
â Layout pipe and structural steel items per design
â Tack weld using multiple welding processes
â Read, add, subtract and understand fractions and decimals
â Use and understand weld symbols, sizes, abbreviations, notes, and grades
â Remove all sharp edges and burrs
â Utilize the following tools with 100% proficiency:
o Tape measure and square
â Utilize the following tools as described
o Cutting torch: Lay out and hand cut
o Magnetic Drill: Lay out and drill holes
o Track torch: Bevel steel plates
â Safely utilize a crane, hoist, and forklift
â Using different types of soldering, Mig, flux core, or stick
â Ensure weld machines are calibrated and ready to use
â Work on a task both alone and with co-workers as needed to assist in daily activities and delivery requirements
â Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
â Able to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl
â Frequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools
â Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
â Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problems
â Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects
â Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
Minimum Qualifications
All Level Requirements:
â 3 years relevant work experience
Additional Details:
An offer for this position is contingent upon successful completion of the following items with a satisfactory outcome.
â Able to pass a written test dealing with a fitter's proficiency.
â Able to pass a physical test fitting beam if structural fitter and a physical pipe test if a pipe fitter.
â Able to pass physical test from above from verbal instructions.
This position requires work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The candidate will be regularly exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the Rig Up Yard is located.
The candidate must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. They must be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends and holidays.
