Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience working in Java, Python, or Go.
  • Familiarity with Security and Privacy best practices.

Android Security Assurance helps keep the Android OS safe on devices. In this role, you will develop frameworks with security tools that verify the state of Android devices and develop automation and infrastructure to support security response processes.

As a Software Engineer in the Android Security Assurance team, you'll dive deep into Android builds to build infrastructure and tools to identify potential vulnerabilities and risky behavior, and ensure the highest levels of user protection.

The Privacy Sandbox initiative aims to create technologies that both protect people's privacy online and give companies and developers tools to build thriving digital businesses. Our team is dedicated to strengthening the Web and Android platform against tracking and fingerprinting, while also developing new privacy-preserving APIs to support personalization and measurement on the web. We are committed to collaborating with stakeholders in the industry to develop and implement viable, alternative solutions in a way that protects the privacy of users while also ensuring the continued vitality of the web.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $133,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Craft innovative services and tools to analyze every aspect of Android builds.
  • Streamline bulletin releases and build infrastructure tooling to track and manage the bulletin release process.
  • Recommend Android security, proactively verifying fixes and ensuring Android devices are safeguarded against known threats.
  • Be able to problem-solve like a pro, investigating issues, debugging code, maintaining SLOs, and finding elegant solutions.
  • Collaborate and grow in a team environment, sharing your expertise and learning from others.
