As BIM/VDC Lead Designer with Bruce & Merrilees, you play a crucial role in our success by contributing to "Powerful Solutions" through teamwork. Your responsibilities will include developing a comprehensive, functionally, and dimensionally accurate physical layout of electrical systems based on 3D scans, engineering design, customer specifications, materials and equipment submittals to meet project needs and constructability of the project. Some of the Exciting Work You'll Be Involved In:
- Providing overall development of coordinated electrical model for internal fabrication and with other trades.
- Provide BIM Coordination to review and analyze equipment and material submittals with respect to physical layout, interfaces, and constructability.
- Support the estimation process and planning of VDC efforts.
- 3D modeling of moderately to highly complex elements of electrical infrastructure, electrical distribution and circuit layout of electrical rooms, equipment, etc.
- Lead internal and represent Bruce & Merrilees in muitl-trade coordination for work / scope elements, resolve conflicts & clashes, and coordinate with project leadership as necessary.
- Produce prefabrication spool.
- Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
- Produce & maintain layout points for Trimble Total Station.
- Comprehensively develop 3D models that include:
- Subsurface Data from Ground Penetrating Radar scanning
- Terrestrial Data from Total Station and 3D Scanning
- Ariel Data from Drone surveys and DroneDeploy

- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent job experience including field experience.
- 6+ years of experience will be required for candidates with a High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), constructability practices, construction means and methods, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Autodesk design tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks), Bluebeam Revu, and related working proficiency with MS Office applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to handle non-standard situations.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
