CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineer I to join our Power & Manufacturing - Electric Distribution Team at our Hartford, CT office with work from home flexibility.
YOUR IMPACTCHA's distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze, and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.
Working closely with professional engineers, the Engineer I assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Engineer I works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
The Engineer I aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. This individual also performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, and clients. The Engineer I solves routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
- EIT certification is preferred
- No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
- Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
- Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
SALARY RANGE:
$70,000 - $78,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
