Position Summary:
Provide the design for signs based on wind load calculations, customer specifications and other pertinent data. Furnish drawings as well as other information that is vital for the proper manufacturing and installation of Everbrite products. Assist manufacturing in review of sign cabinets and building elements as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create production drawings from customer specifications.
• Work closely with:
o Manufacturing and Graphics Teams as necessary to meet project deadlines efficiently and timely.
o Account Management to address special customer needs and timely execution of engineering projects.
o Installation Services and the Installation Drawing team on various installation projects and cost estimates.
• Review structural calculations provided by external structural engineers.
• Reading blueprints and/or other information necessary to complete engineering calculations and analysis.
• Assist the department by reproducing documents upon request and make proper distribution.
• Maintain drawing files (i.e., sign drawings, etc.) along with tractability to specific projects.
• Maintain library of design standards.
• Coordinate projects with other engineering departments
• Train employees in Engineering-related processes.
• Remain abreast of new developments in technologies used by the Company, its vendors and its competitors so as to maintain and enhance the company's position in the industry.
• Travel to field installations to observe installation methods and jobsite situations to gain understanding of the conditions in which our products are installed.
• Review installation photos to confirm installations meet our specifications and site conditions for existing products.
• Assist with workload within the department as needed.

  • MUST BE PROFICIENT IN SOLIDWORKS

Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Discipline
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with working knowledge in design and detailing.
• Preferred experience is in structural steel and aluminum structures.
• Experience in various structural engineering software.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards (IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, NDS).
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D1.6 standards and specifications.
• Experience with RISA and/or Ansys a plus.
• Must have a background in SolidWorks design software.
• Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work within a team environment to achieve common goals and objectives.
• Strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with other team members.
• Ability to work independently and confidently develop solutions to problems.
