School Counselor Intern
One position is available; must receive information from a cooperating university.
Student Intern Responsibilities:

  • Follow Greenwich procedures under the direction of the supervising School Counselor.
  • Student Support: Assisting students with academic, social, and emotional issues by providing one-on-one counseling or small group sessions.
  • School Counseling Programs: Helping to implement and facilitate guidance programs, workshops, or seminars on topics like college readiness, career planning, and mental health.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and progress.
  • Collaboration: Working with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student needs and develop support plans.
  • Crisis Intervention: Assisting in crisis situations and providing support to students in distress, under supervision.
  • Classroom Visits: Participating in classroom presentations to educate students about counseling resources and services.
  • Assessment Support: Aiding in the administration of surveys or assessments to gather data on student needs and progress.
  • Resource Development: Helping to create and distribute resources for students and families regarding academic and emotional support services.
  • Professional Development: Engaging in training and development opportunities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
  • Observational Learning: Shadowing experienced counselors to learn about various counseling techniques and approaches.
Student Intern Requirements:
