AECOM is seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) West Coast Engineering Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

  • Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.
  • Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
  • Manage the ITS growth and staff on a daily basis throughout the West Coast.
  • Lead marketing and proposal efforts for various ITS projects.
  • Lead ITS projects throughout the West Coast.
  • Supporting a wide range of ITS projects for freeway, transit, traffic signal, safety, communications and tolling systems.
  • Experience with ITS Architecture and Systems Engineering Process.
  • Experience Communication Networks and Systems Design for data and video, both wireless and fiber optic designs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents.
  • Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Provides guidance, mentor and coach to engineers, or technicians, to learn and improve their technical skills.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of job-related experience in California, Washington, Nevada.
  • 4+ years of ITS engineering management experience.
  • California PE license.
