Broadcast Design Engineer / Solutions Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Broadcast Design Engineer / Solutions Architect to design and implement solutions for our clients' technical needs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Broadcast and Design engineering. This person will have the ability to support permanent and semi-permanent system installations for clients. While representing the Engineering department, this role works seamlessly with the Sales department to support the design of customers’ projects from concept to final drawings.

We would prefer this person to be able to work out of our Grapevine, TX location; however, we will consider strong candidates that can either work hybrid or possibly remote. This is a Full-Time Salaried position that requires some travel to sites and our Grapevine, TX office location as needed.

Key Duties Include:

  • Works with Sales and Clients to Design a system that will support the clients’ needs.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to internal teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to create a complete Project Design which will be turned over to the client.
  • Work with the Project Engineer and Project Manager in the planning of the installation for equipment required, labor needed, and supplies needed.
  • Responsible for developing pre-sale Build of Materials.
  • Creates, modifies, and reads CAD drawings for project related documentation.
  • Develops detailed engineering drawings for rack layout, system wiring and custom plates or cabling assemblies.
  • Assists Sales in developing a thorough and concise job scope.
  • Responsible for seeing that a pre-sale site survey is accomplished.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Ten (10) years of broadcast engineering experience is required.
  • Experience with SMPTE 2110 integrations, to include PTP, and NMOS knowledge.
  • Previous AV or Broadcast work Experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage, direct and supervise staff.
  • Works collaboratively with people in the group and in other parts of the organization; supporting others when requested.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering is preferred; however, a thorough and demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques will suffice.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to prepare and present presentations to clients and various levels of employee populations.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling and coordinating multiple tasks is necessary.
  • Demonstrates a prominent level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
