POSITION SUMMARY

Are you passionate about helping students achieve their educational dreams? Join our team as a Financial Aid Advisor! In this role, you will be the first point of contact for students seeking financial assistance. You will review, correct, and package financial aid student files, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Your work will directly impact students’ ability to access the financial resources they need to succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review financial aid applications, forms, and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify information reported on FAFSA to determine eligibility and complete verification procedures as needed.
  • Input FAFSA data, review resulting Institutional Student Information Records (ISIR), and maintain the financial aid funding schedule in CLASS.
  • Provide entrance and exit counseling to students.
  • Answer questions and inquiries from students and parents, offering clear and helpful guidance.
  • Ensure all files and paperwork are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Admissions and other personnel.
  • Stay current on all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Attend financial aid workshops and conferences.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • In-depth knowledge of government regulations and guidelines relating to financial aid and Title IV.
  • Strong customer service orientation with demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule as needed.
