The ideal candidate is an Engineer first and Manager second. To be successful, you will need strong mechanical engineering skills and strong structural mechanics skills. You will need proven capability of leading a team of engineers through projects from conceptualization to innovation to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and inspiring his or her team while working alongside them to achieve their performance metrics. Your collaborative attitude and interpersonal skills will help you thrive as Chief Engineer.
Ideal candidate must have the proven ability of an engineer to generate conceptual designs in response to complex performance specifications, analytically validate those conceptual designs using modern Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software and present the results of those efforts in a clear and concise manner via technical presentations and reports to Wartech’s customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, and support engineering team
- Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques to assist team where needed
- Create a technical strategy and budget proposal
- Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics
- Communicate engineer team goals with engineering staff members
- Coordinate internal teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
Job Skills:
- Hands-on application of technical analysis and engineering skills including FEMAP, Nastran, Creo and other engineering software packages.
- Practical hands-on experience and the ability to translate that experience into reliable design intuition and interpretation of analysis results critical to supporting Wartech’s customers.

Job Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or "US Person" in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- 10+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering using finite element analysis, solid modeling, and predictive analytical tools.
- Education: undergraduate degree in either mechanical or aerospace engineering. (Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s or PhD-level graduate work or degree is preferred)
- Preferred experience with a military or aerospace engineering environment, particularly in applying military standards and designing in compliance with military performance specifications.
- Proven experience interacting with customers directly in a presentation or technical reporting capacity.
