DELAMAR- luxury hotel brand is excited to hiring for this dream job in Greenwich CT. The lavish Delamar Hotel is a waterfront property walking distance from the ave and train. We are seeking an experienced leader to join the team as the hotel GM. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a wonderful company!

OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will have the oversight of all aspects of Property Management in accordance with the company mission statement, including maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction, and staff development within established quality standards. Responsible for hiring, training and discipline of hotel staff.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of all hotel operations, financial performance, RevPAR index, associate, guest, and resident engagement. This role must embrace and exude a service and management philosophy. This position must have extensive experience in creating and implementing critical paths for all operations, including financial success, ultra-luxury service standards, exceptional guest experiences and leadership training and mentoring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be very hands on and a self-starter.
  • Lead and manage the development of the hotel strategy, and oversee implementation.
  • Propose the annual budget and then deliver the Revenue and GOP targets of the property once signed off.
  • Effectively lead and manage all day-to-day operational activities of the hotel, through the operational department heads.
  • Effectively manage positive relations with the Ownership interests of the hotel on behalf of the operating company.
  • Successfully position the hotel from a Sales and property Marketing perspective.
  • Ensure that accurate forecasting and Revenue Management activities are taking place.
  • Ensure that the operational and service skills of the employees of the hotel are being constantly improved.
  • Support and implement all corporate programs and guidelines.
  • Serve as the “face” of the property and the GHG brand to position the Mystic flagship asset as the leader in the market.
  • Maintain a high-profile with the media, industry associations and other relevant intermediaries and stakeholders.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for the hotel and oversee and monitor the annual budget focusing on performance, revenue generation, cost optimization and guest experience.
  • Capitalize on the uniqueness of the Greenwich Hospitality brand and strive to continuously support, foster, and strengthen the positioning of the property at the top-end of the market by implementing a culture of excellence and management style defined and characterized by the highest attention to detail.
  • Translate tactics into operational plans and in collaboration with the department heads monitor the implementation of the strategies. Coordinate with regional and corporate teams to ensure the timely and accurate servicing of the property’s needs.
  • Direct, train and motivate those responsible for each operational area and constantly mentor the team to help achieve set goals and objectives.
  • Participate with corporate in the process of defining the general policies for brand service, quality, best practices, and initiatives that lead to the optimization of results.
  • Develop and administer the employee appraisal system to identify training needs, recognize and reward performance with maximum transparency.
  • Monitor security and sustainability initiatives to ensure expected outcomes for guests, employees, and the hotel in general.
  • Actively involved in the Sales and Marketing strategy and revenue management in order to drive consistent opportunities in brand awareness, PR successes, as well as revenue growth (ADR, occupancy).
  • Fully versed and knowledgeable in Operational emergencies related to Fire, Life, Health and Safety.
  • Strategic and pragmatic leader.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate has a proven track record and experience in managing a luxury hotel.

A strong knowledge of how to build local community presence as well as a natural understanding and appreciation of the concept of luxury and quality is essential.

The General Manager will be an inspirational leader and must have the ability to motivate and train employees, ensuring a culture of excellence in order to drive the highest guest advocacy (Net Promoter score).

The candidate will be highly visible, proactive, and personally involved in all aspects of hotel operations.

The candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to make strategic decisions and be able to rely on their experience of leading by example and delivering results.

The candidate should be a strategic thinker, numerate and analytical, with the ability to track, measure and evaluate success of a short and long-term business plan. As an integral member of the senior leadership team the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and discretion.

The individual must be entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and results driven.

The successful candidate must exude passion and drive and be capable of instilling the same characteristics throughout the team.

The candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, an extremely high level of attention to detail and be able to interact effectively with ownership. Self-motivation and self-reliance are essential, and the individual will be accustomed to working in an independent manner and be able to produce necessary results without close supervision. Confidence in one’s ability and capability to present oneself in a polished and professional manner is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,893.00 - $150,000.00 per year
