Overview:

This exciting opportunity based out of Aman’s Corporate Office in Miami plays a crucial role within the Global Food and Beverage Development Team, focusing on both new and existing projects across the Americas. This position involves leading the creation of innovative concepts and establishing brand standards, while collaborating with the Design & Technical Services team to guide the design development process through to execution. Additionally, the role supports the pre-opening team with new openings and renovations. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and complexities with strong communication skills, a realistic approach to balancing priorities and a deep passion for hospitality and enhancing the guest experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Comprehensive F&B Facilities Structure: Create a detailed F&B facilities structure for the project master plan, leveraging market research and current industry trends to ensure the design meets contemporary demands.
  • Compile Space Requirement Program: Develop a detailed space requirement program that covers:
    • Front of House (FOH): Guest dining areas, bars, lounges, and reception spaces.
    • Satellite Kitchens: Smaller kitchens strategically placed to support FOH areas.
    • Commissary: Central kitchen for bulk food preparation and storage.
    • Main Service Areas: Primary kitchen facilities, service corridors, and storage.
  • Create Technical Briefs: Prepare technical briefs for all F&B spaces and service areas to serve as a comprehensive guide throughout the design and development process.
  • Lead FOH Design Development: Oversee the design development for FOH F&B areas, including:
    • Space planning
    • Schematic and detailed design
    • Integration of design elements with functional requirements to enhance guest experience and maintain operational efficiency.
    • Compliance with AMAN standards
  • Spearhead BOH Design Process: Lead the design of BOH F&B service areas, focusing on:
    • Efficient food and non-food movement from entry to exit
    • Ensuring operational and cost efficiency
  • Review Shop Drawings and Equipment Specifications:
    • Evaluate shop drawings for joinery, furniture, and custom-fabricated equipment to ensure they align with design intent and operational needs.
    • Review tender documentation for kitchen equipment, including data sheets and specifications. Provide support with value engineering and budget management.
  • Conduct Site Inspections: Perform regular site inspections during construction and pre-opening phases to ensure that design and operational objectives are being met.
  • Develop Post-Construction Checklists: Create and implement checklists to ensure that all F&B spaces meet AMAN’s quality and operational standards. Manage the handover process to ensure all deliverables are completed and address any issues promptly.
  • Refine Design and Construction Guidelines: Develop and continuously update design and construction guidelines for FOH and BOH areas, ensuring consistency across all venues and properties.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management: Work closely with senior management to align F&B development strategies with the overall goals of the company, providing insights and recommendations to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or hospitality/ tourism.
  • 5+ years previous work experience in the Hospitality F&B development and Project Management role.
  • Experience in hospitality operations is a must and ability in handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills - the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with people globally at all levels in a variety of industries.
  • Attention to detail and focus on follow up and through.
  • Team player with strong initiative and self-direction.
  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-time zone workspace. Supporting different Regions at the time of the day that suits their time zone when necessary.
  • Able to travel to various locations and maintain semi-flexible hours to accommodate occasional early/late meetings and job site visits.
  • Computer proficiency a must, with a strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and CAD.
