The Oberlin City School District is offering highly motivated teachers an opportunity to join a dynamic educational team by applying for the position of Elementary School Counselor.
The mission of the Oberlin City Schools is to provide effective education that will maximize success for all students in the district. Oberlin's Board has articulated the priorities of a multicultural and highly rigorous curriculum. As a result, the entire district has implemented the International Baccalaureate Program. Benefiting from continuous community support, the district enjoys a strong and stable financial base. Oberlin was one of the first districts in the state to pass a school income tax. The Oberlin School District enjoys a significant partnership with Oberlin College and the City of Oberlin. Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.

- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- Certification/License:
- Ohio State Certification as an Guidance Counselor
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree in related area preferred.
