SUMMARY

The Vice President Business Development is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external sales plan to achieve revenue and profitability goals. He/she leads the development of a multi-year sales plan that is fueled by the organization and business unit strategic growth plans and represents multiple service lines in targeted verticals. This position manages the business development function and leads the staff that executes the sales plan through strategic prospecting techniques, campaigns, proposals and presentations to engage and build long term relationships with high-level targeted prospects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Ability to effectively present Alta Resources' services (products) and solutions to senior-level executives at prospective client organizations and targeted existing clients.
  2. Manage business development staff.
  3. Keep informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to current/potential customers to include; competition, competitive issues and markets.
  4. Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars, and trade shows that are in line with Alta's business unit strategies and goals.
  5. Understand and work within defined P&L’s and budgets and be able to work within pricing structures to secure business.
  6. Prepare and submit sales plans, forecasts, trip reports, customer profiles, and expense reports as required.
  7. Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by developing sales and marketing proposals to customers on technical products and services, making presentations to users, making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads, act to close deals and finalize contracts, and meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals.
  8. Participate in educating and informing prospect/client needs and Alta's services.
  9. Research potential customer needs and communicate learnings internally in an effective manner to determine strategic fit and if Alta Resources will pursue for a partnership.
  10. Regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability are conditions of employment and essential function of this position.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, retaining, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving issues. The position also requires active leadership in the way of supporting strategic initiatives as well as personal development and application of Six Sigma methodologies. All leadership positions are expected to attain Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is required. Masters degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years high level sales experience (Director, VP, Sr. VP or Executive level) with proven results is a must. Experience with Business Process Outsourcing, Call Center Outsourcing, and marketing analytics is preferred.


TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE

This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes Advanced Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated abilities in advanced use of MS Excel. CRM experience with Salesforce.com a plus. Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by the Client and Alta Resources.
