What You Will Achieve

The PX Lead is accountable, in collaboration with the business, to translate global business strategy into People strategy for Oncology Research and Development , ensuring alignment with the overall PX strategy for Oncology R&D and the broader Oncology Division. The PX Lead partners with business leaders to develop and implement talent strategies in organizational design, talent management (talent reviews, succession planning, workforce planning), and organizational change management. This is a strategic PX role that requires strong business acumen, a depth of HR skills and the ability to facilitate culture change, build leadership capability and create cohesive, highly effective leadership teams within their remit.

This role also provides site-based leadership and sits on site-based committees and governance bodies for culture, safety, crisis management and EHS initiatives. They work closely with the local Site Affairs organization to foster site culture, change management programs and engagement activities.

How You Will Achieve It

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Understand the business and drive key colleague strategies that further the business objectives for Early Development, Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Sciences and Regulatory Affairs.
  2. Work with leaders to drive engagement and change in Pfizer Oncology’s culture.
  3. Build an organizational strategic talent plan including overview of current talent, gaps, as well as future requirements and solutions (strategic workforce plan).
  4. Create strategies to enable managers to develop colleagues in alignment with business strategies in conjunction with Pfizer’s Growth Strategy (i.e., zig zag moves, cross functional moves, secondments, projects, etc.).
  5. Work with leaders to initiate and implement optimal organizational structure to accomplish business objectives and leverage talent.
  6. Partner with leaders and our Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team to evolve the Digital DEI Strategy so that it is embedded within the full organization.
  7. Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, engagement, and other initiatives.
  8. Approach complex problems with rigor, quickly diagnosing issues, approach and resources required for an effective solution.
  9. Build effective linkages and alliances with other PX functions (i.e., Centers of Excellence) to ensure alignment around implementation of HR processes/programs.
  10. Execute on priorities of the Oncology PX function.
  11. This role will have West Coast Site responsibilities that may include culture committee, crisis management team, site change management and communications.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  1. Bachelor's Degree.
  2. 7+ years of demonstrated experience in HR technical proficiencies and core HR competencies with experience in coaching, employee development and driving process improvements.
  3. Experience in business partnering roles.
  4. Thorough knowledge of local labor laws applicable.
  5. Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Nice-to-Have

  1. Relevant pharmaceutical experience.
  2. HR management experience in Organizational Development, Human Resource Management or related field.
  3. Proven track record of successful Change Management and ability to execute initiatives in a timely manner with high quality.
  4. Demonstrates business acumen, project management skills, facilitation and complex problem-solving skills, along with strong process skills.
  5. Strong leadership, integration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Some travel to West Coast Sites.

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid; on-site 2-3x/week or as needed by the business.
