Job Title : Machining Specialist (CNC Machining & Process Improvement)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Specialist with a background in CNC machining, setup, and process improvement to join our team at M & M Sales & Equipment. As an Application Specialist, you will be responsible for developing tool packages, process improvements, troubleshooting, and tool testing with new and existing customers. You will need the tenacity to see projects through to their end while supporting the outside sales team. You will need to manage a high level of details, document cost savings, and report progress back to management and the customer on a regular basis.
This position requires a desire to improve customer machining processes, a servant’s heart, an honest attitude, a willingness to learn the products M & M represents, and the ability to sell the value of M & M Sales to your customers. This position covers a larger area, and you will be responsible for managing your travel and face time with customers.
This position will be based out of our Fort Worth branch, working closely with the Director of Sales. The intended territory will cover Dallas/Fort Worth, Waco, and west Texas, including the Texas panhandle and SE New Mexico. You will support our sales team in existing accounts by managing turnkey projects, proving out new programs, developing new processes, and implementing new tooling.
This position will start with joint sales calls and assisting with projects at our Benbrook branch. You will also spend 1 week at our headquarters in Odessa, TX. During this time, you will be learning what we sell, how we interact with customers, and how the office runs so that you can be more efficient when you are out on the road. You will be expected to read up on products and complete online training classes for 3-5 vendors in the first 6 weeks. You should also expect to attend onsite training at one of our key tooling suppliers.
Responsibilities :
- Manage and implement turnkey projects
- Build tool packages based on customer prints, models, and requirements
- Assist the outside sales team with troubleshooting tooling issues
- Collaborate with vendors and programmers to develop cutting-edge processes
- Provide product demonstrations and technical support to customers
- Present new metal cutting solutions and value propositions to prospective clients
- Provide assistance at the customer machine for new setups and programs
- Stay up-to-date on cutting tools, machining processes, and competitor activities
Qualifications :
- Ability to develop and maintain a strong network of relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, metal cutting tools & tooling optimization, materials, manufacturing prints, and CNC programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and CRM software
- 5 years of experience in CNC machining or related fields
- Relevant certifications or degrees are a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven track record of improving metal cutting processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel and meet with customers as required
