The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Developer / Analyst, Web and Mobile Solutions for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).
Starting base salary = $76,000 - $95,000 (commensurate with related experience). The AHA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
The Developer / Analyst, Web and Mobile Solutions participates in the development, implementation and support of the organization's web applications, provides timely technical support to customers and performs project management for assigned projects that includes gathering business requirements and developing project plans. This position is part of the Information Technology Web & Mobile Solutions team and collaborates frequently with other teams and individuals across the organization, as well as external vendors.
Essential Functions Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Provide 1st and 2nd tier support for AHA websites by performing bug fixes, implementing website enhancements, addressing web project tasks effectively, and providing post-implementation support.
- Create, plan, configure and implement solutions for web applications. Develop techniques, tools, and standards to support assigned projects. Research and implement new functionality and UX enhancements for existing applications. Conduct internal quality assurance reviews, analysis/design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation for web development activities.
- Work with a variety of operating units and vendors to develop, implement, and support web systems/applications. Train colleagues, which includes but is not limited to: knowledge transfer for IT support purposes as well as training staff on tools used to manage website content.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in a standard and organized manner as systems are enhanced or modified.
- Establish technical specifications based on business and functional requirements.
- Oversee project activities, including requirements gathering, planning, development, implementation, and vendor engagements, to ensure optimal outcomes and alignment with best-practices and AHA standards.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools or applications to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of day-to-day web development efforts.
- Challenge the status quo of existing business applications and quickly learn new technologies and tools both independently and with guidance as necessary.
