Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of a portfolio of small to mid-sized internal technical projects that range in complexity and technology. The primary objective will be to support the IT operations, maintenance, enhancement, and sustainment of the infrastructure and applications currently hosted in multiple platforms, supporting the IT investments, information assurance projects, application development, and project management. The candidate will coordinate with the government leads, and third-party contractors to oversee the execution and management of Development, Deployment, Operations and Maintenance, Security, and Support of Enterprise Applications.

The candidate will be expected to develop and deliver various project management and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or Agile Development Life Cycle (ADLC) documentation in support of these projects, and to provide expertise and guidance in the implementation of the projects, if needed. The candidate will work within the existing contractor team, which includes a Program Manager, business analysts, designers, and technical staff, but will have a significant amount of independence and autonomy in developing the appropriate implementation approach to the assigned internal projects.

Contributions

  • Coordinating and facilitating all project activities and working with the government resources to ensure project success.
  • Supporting Government leads and staff in planning and implementing program schedule and performance management practices that enable reliable and efficient operations of project technical teams.
  • Supporting the Government technical leads in administering and supporting the partners for interface planning, requirements gathering, and production system matters and providing technical program documentation as it relates to system enhancements and technical achievements.
  • Overseeing and managing a portfolio of internal customer projects, providing recommendations on project priorities, implementation timelines, and technical approaches to completing projects.
  • Implementing organizational change to support and influence government technical team on project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or technical degree or diploma in related industry, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role managing an enterprise IT implementation project.
  • Experience overseeing, managing, and implementing multiple technical projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and experience working with deployment teams and understanding release management and configuration management processes.
  • Knowledge and experience delivering technical projects within a software development lifecycle using Lean and Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills (technical and business) with a keen awareness of organizational dynamics and organizational change management skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior leadership and technical and non-technical team members alike.
  • Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to a customer environment.

Preferred

  • 7 years or more of experience.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar Agile Certification.
  • DHS experience.
  • SharePoint 2016 and MS Office Products.
