Position Overview:

As a Special Inspector / Geotechnical Engineer , you will lead geotechnical projects, perform engineering analysis and design, and conduct fieldwork and construction monitoring. You will spend the majority of your time on-site (approximately 75%) overseeing investigations, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with design standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the engineering lead on assigned projects, working closely with senior engineers.
  • Conduct geotechnical analysis and prepare calculations for a variety of projects.
  • Review designs, drawings, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform on-site fieldwork and construction monitoring, spending approximately 75% of your time in the field.
  • Oversee field investigations and conduct regular site visits to track project progress.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and project updates.
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls with clients and internal teams.
  • Manage project documentation and ensure timely status updates.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree with a Geotechnical specialty preferred.
  • PE License required.
  • Relevant certifications in Welding, Bolting, and Masonry (ICC certifications preferred ).
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and experience with structural design and analysis software.
  • Familiarity with construction drawing standards and experience preparing design drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Additional Information:

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. Bonus pay is provided for weekend work and certain extended hour projects.
