Job Description
The Project Manager B is responsible for oversight of the Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center’s (FTDC) federally-funded observational research portfolio focused on young onset neurodegenerative diseases including frontotemporal degeneration (FTD), Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising up to six clinical research coordinators.
- Execution of study protocols and prioritizing efforts of the study team.
- Overseeing timely and accurate data collection and research billing.
- Development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and staff onboarding and ongoing training activities.
- Leading yearly performance reviews for CRC with the PI and assisting in interviewing CRC hiring candidates.
- Managing CRC maintenance of essential (CRF) and source documentation and correspondence.
- Ensuring overall and data-specific target enrollment for protocols and reporting to PI to ensure recruitment goals are maintained.
- Engaging with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), regulatory affairs, and the Office of Clinical Research.
- Managing invoicing per protocols from patient-tracking excel files of billable activities.
- Overseeing human subject protection policies and procedures, managing ongoing longitudinal projects, and troubleshooting operational issues.
Qualifications
Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Effective problem-solving abilities; effective communication and writing skills; strong organizational and time management skills; flexible and able to multi-task; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; knowledge of IRB and human subject research protection regulations, and familiarity with federally-funded research process.
