Cargill, Incorporated seeks a full-time Senior Data Scientist - Operations Research based in Wayzata, MN to lead discussions with client domain experts, ops teams & other ops research engineers to gain direct insight on complex facility & process questions regarding material flow, personnel flow, utilization, space constraints, & bottlenecks. The role involves developing & implementing complex simulation & optimization models designed to answer questions on making the manufacturing and supply chains more effective.


Requires:

  1. A Master’s degree or equivalent in Applied Math, Statistics, or a related field + 3 years of relevant experience.
  2. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the same fields + 5 years of relevant (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience.
  3. Must also have 36 months of experience with each of the following:
    1. Applying linear programming and integer programming to solve business problems arising in supply chain, logistics, or transportation;
    2. Implementing mathematical programming, integer programming, and linear programming models in commercial software, including at least one of the following: Gurobi, AMPL, and SAS;
    3. Utilizing Azure or AWS cloud technologies for deploying scalable machine learning algorithms into production solutions;
    4. Developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms for inventory control and/or supply chain/logistics domains using at least one of the following: R, Python, or SAS;
    5. Developing mathematical optimization/programming models to optimize capacity utilization and supply chain.

Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master’s program. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Position requires domestic travel up to 25% of the time.
