Primary Objective of Position:
The Landmark Resort is looking for a dynamic, innovative Director of Sales, to lead a team of sales professionals. Qualified individual will possess a clear understanding of the resort-hotel-conference-convention industry and a proven track record of stellar sales results and industry leadership.
The Landmark Resort is a uniquely situated property overlooking the bay in Door County, WI with conference and meeting facilities within driving access to major metropolitan cities.
Reporting to the Sr Director of Operations, direct the sales team in achieving the annual goals of the department. Overall responsible for developing strategies to grow top line revenue.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Participate on the Landmark Resort Management Team and provide sales leadership at the direction and guidance of the Sr Director of Operations.
- Lead a sales team focused on Leisure Conference and Wedding sales to meet aggressive annual revenue goals for lodging, F&B, room rental, AV, and other ancillary revenue.
- Coach, support, and develop the sales team.
- Analyze resort business data, market research, and industry trends to evaluate and identify appropriate target markets, marketing strategies, and sales goals for the resort and group sales team.
- Work with resort management to set aggressive sales and revenue goals.
- Develop and implement sales strategies and programs to increase occupancy, revenue, and sustain resort services.
- Complete an operating, payroll budget, and capital improvement budgets for your department annually.
- Engage in joint sales efforts with the team to build/strengthen relationships and solidify business.
- Directly drive sales by fielding sales calls and booking business.
- Continually evaluate industry trends and comp sets to ensure pricing, processes, and strategies position the Landmark as a market competitive location.
- Review and manage the contract process to ensure sales drives all revenue opportunities while maintaining price integrity.
- Continually evaluate, maintain, and develop sales/service systems and tools to help the team work efficiently while capturing and maintaining customer data.
- Participate in strategic committees including but not limited to industry board positions, revenue committee, capex committee, resort operational meetings, as well as being a member of the resort management team.
- Participate in the MOD program and support other departmental operations at times of need determined by demand and staffing levels.

- Direct and continuous contact with guests.
- Direct and continuous contact with staff, resort management, departments, industry representatives, and peers.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and departments at the Landmark Resort.
Prerequisites:
- College degree in related field; or equivalent experience in Sales/Hospitality field.
- 3-5 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Ability to aggressively present and negotiate a product with good follow-through.
- Ability to work well with people on all levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a maximum of forty pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, stretch, and work on feet for long periods of time.
Travel:
- Occasional business trips within/outside Wisconsin. The Director of Sales will be expected to periodically travel around the continental U.S. as a function of the sales efforts and in support of the sales staff.
Working Conditions:
- Work Schedule: Business hours, Monday-Friday, with some nights and weekends as required by the workload and special events.
