Our motley group consists of explorers of Siberia, renowned experts in data algorithms, and entrepreneurs who have taken companies public. With employees embodying these attributes, Capture is now one of Kentucky’s, and the nation’s, fastest-growing companies. We are the leading Behavioral Intelligence Platform for the US education market, partnering with more than 100 universities to reimagine their enrollment and advancement strategies. Every day we strive to be better than yesterday, rewarding hard work and innovation.
Senior Product Manager Expectations:
Reporting to the SVP of Product Development, the Senior Product Manager is responsible for guiding the planning, software development, and go-to-market activities for Capture’s entire product line. You will own leadership and management of the product development lifecycle process. This will require demonstrated, successful software product management experience and a broad array of functional and personal skills. This is an exciting opportunity for a smart, creative, and entrepreneurial product leader who can strengthen our technology leadership position.
Specifically, the individual responsibilities for this ‘full stack’ product management role include:
- Develop a deep understanding of the needs of our market (Higher Education), our clients (College & University Enrollment, Marketing and Advancement departments) and the users of our software through close collaboration with internal subject matter experts, client outreach, and proactive market research.
- Able to synthesize client and user needs with Capture’s corporate strategy to evolve our product strategy as a foundation for prioritization decisions about future product functionality.
- Lead the cross-functional product request process and the evaluation of development priorities based on our strategy, client needs, and analysis-based justification.
- See the future: Own, manage, and communicate the resulting forward-looking product roadmap to all key constituents.
- Develop and manage detailed product requirements to enable efficient, agile, and successful product development.
- Work closely with our software engineers and technology staff to support product functionality development and participate in the testing process to ensure that user requirements are met.
- Manage the launch process for our monthly development sprints, communicating clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Collaborating with our Marketing, Sales, and Account Management groups, lead and support the tactical development of go-to-market plans and promotional activities for key product releases.
- Manage the Capture Client Advisory Board and optimize this group as a source of market intelligence and feedback to help support our product strategy and future product development.
Desired Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate possesses an entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation, creating great products, and delivering value to our clients. We seek an energetic, self-directed individual who possesses a competitive drive and the ability to stay focused on delivering results despite changing conditions. Because of the breadth of this role, inside and outside of Capture, it requires the ability to work as a great collaborator cross-functionally, as well as a great listener and communicator (both written and verbal). Because you will be working closely with both end users of our products and our technical staff, you must be bi-lingual – can talk tech with the engineers and empathetically understand and communicate end users’ needs and desires.
