Responsibilities:

We have an opportunity for an IT Business Analyst to join our Berkley One team! Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and support organizations to analyze, design, and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support the business objectives.

This position can be based in any of our following office locations: Wilmington, DE; Morristown, NJ; New York, NY (Manhattan); West Hartford, CT

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and gather requirements
    • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes and workflows
    • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT solutions
  • Solution Design and Development:
    • Work with IT teams to design system solutions that meet business needs
    • Develop and document technical specifications and system architectures
    • Ensure solutions align with industry standards and best practices
  • Implementation and Support:
    • Coordinate with development teams to implement system changes and enhancements
    • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure quality and functionality
    • Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes
  • Project Management:
    • Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring timely delivery
    • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
    • Prepare project documentation and reports for stakeholders
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes
    • Recommend and implement enhancements to existing systems and processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or greater in Information Technology/computer systems engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry
  • Ability to define and implement strategic support processes and solutions
  • Exception analysis and problem-solving ability
  • SQL and data analysis skills
  • Experience with work management/ticketing solutions (ex. Jira)
  • Comfort with rapidly changing priorities, business needs, and conditions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, a communication style flexible to the situation, and able to communicate clearly and with a purpose
  • Calm under pressure, possessing excellent organizational skills, integrity, and follow-through on tasks, able to challenge the norms while working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • A strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Natural curiosity, a love of learning how things work and always on the lookout for innovative improvements
