About the Job:

The Solutions Architect is the responsible party to drive innovative, value-driven technical solutions for the clients Summit serves. They use deep technical expertise and AVL knowledge to develop conceptual designs to meet the client’s vision during the sales process. The Solutions Architect serves as the expert throughout the life cycle of a project for Summit’s internal teams, and provides support to clients throughout the project as well as post-installation. They also act as advisors to the organization, helping it to stay on top of the latest technologies and trends and helping the organization to make informed decisions about the best solutions for its particular needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical expert during sales phone calls, video calls, or onsite meetings and describes how the proposed system will meet the customer needs at a technical level.
  • Passionately find ways to win projects by confidently demonstrating value in Summit’s technical abilities, ability to hit budgets, and turn around time in proposals.
  • Provides high level functional design concept to meet customer vision and partners with the engineering team to bring this to life.
  • Reviews drawing sets at regular intervals set by project management, and provides final approval on construction and installation documents before releasing to Assembly and Installation teams.
  • Collaborates with Assembly & Engineering teams to preprogram as much of the AVL system as is feasible, including functional layout of control surfaces, DSP programming, and other configuration files.
  • Oversees & performs any final/advanced programming, calibration, and tuning of the AVL systems.
  • Delivers extensive, industry-leading training with the staff and volunteers at the church on their new systems, prior to and during first use week.
  • Performs final check of systems to make sure delivered system aligns with the contract and meets customer expectations.
  • Be the front-line of technical support for the first 30 days after installation.
  • Works long-term with the Summit Support Team to ensure any equipment or configuration issues that may arise are quickly resolved.

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple parties, both internal and external, to identify and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to project a hospitable and personable demeanor while meeting with clients whether by phone, email or face to face.
  • Advanced customer service skills, with the ability to work with the client, understand what they need, and adapt to any changes.
  • Advanced multi-tasking & documentation capabilities with the ability to handle 8-14 projects, and/or $12-16 million dollars with corresponding details at the same time.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise confidently in project and sales environments.
  • Communicates effectively and stays informed on all internal company communication such as email, Basecamp, Slack and Google Calendar.
  • Proactively identifies issues before they arise and uses a solutions-based mindset to make recommendations.

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • Maintains up to date OSHA Safety Certifications.
  • Maintains valid Drivers License, clean driving record, and the ability to be insured under the company plan.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

This position has the following physical requirements:

  • Seeing close work and tell differences between colors.
  • Sitting with repetitive motion related to administrative work (e.g. typing).
  • Carrying up to 90 lbs.
  • Lifting up to 75 lbs to the shoulder.
  • Climbing and working over six feet off the ground.

This position has the following mental capabilities and cognitive requirements:

  • Understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints; collaborates to explore alternative solutions.
  • Organizing activities and individual work schedule to manage multiple tasks and/or projects.
  • Ability to monitor, evaluate and modify emotional reactions, and remain calm and focused.
  • Working under deadlines, working with speed, and multitasking.

Working conditions:

  • Constant:
    • Work inside, under fluorescent lights, on concrete floors.
    • Close exposure to computer monitors and video screens.
    • Expectation to meet production deadlines.
    • Frequent travel.
  • Occasional:
    • Work in loud areas, with risk of major and minor injuries as well as exposure to dust.
    • Work above six feet and/or in confined spaces.
    • Irregular or extended work hours, working alone, and fielding multiple demands from several people.

Work Location: In person, with frequent travel to installation sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Salary: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year depending on experience.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, generally during core business hours.
  • Hybrid work policy — expected to be in office a minimum of 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) once training period is complete (which may require 5 days per week in the office).

Time Off: Flexible, Paid Vacation.

Supplemental pay types: Eligibility for bonus based on company and personal performance.

Travel requirement: Frequent travel to installation sites (approximately 30-45%). Hours will flex to meet project demands while onsite.
