Job Summary of the Payroll Manager position

Integr8staff seeks a seasoned and hands-on expert Payroll Manager with UKG Pro Payroll experience to lead full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll processing for a renowned financial institution.


Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager position

  1. Execute biweekly payroll processing for employees across multiple states.
  2. Generate missing punches, pending PTO approval, timesheet change request reports in UKG READY application.
  3. Responsible for creating and uploading interface files, expense reimbursement, commissions, and bonus as needed.
  4. Process 3rd party sick pay quarterly.
  5. Audit and reconcile payroll data before transmitting.
  6. Process Garnishments, Tax Levies, and Income Deduction processes as needed.
  7. Manage Year End Processes, including but not limited to W-2s, W-2c, and Year End Stock Option processing.
  8. Execute off-cycle payroll, including in-house instant checks as needed.
  9. Generate various reports post-transmission, including Payroll Registers, General Ledger, Tax Liability Grand Total, Collection Detail, Payment Detail, and State Income Tax Liability.
  10. Reconcile Payroll Registers and Tax Liability Grand Total reports.
  11. Address and correct GL suspend account issues by mapping earnings/deductions codes to GL base accounts.
  12. Create or modify Cognos Analytics (BI) reports as required.
  13. Manage and maintain SIT/SUI accounts for multiple states.
  14. Collaborate with State tax authorities and UKG tax representatives to resolve tax issues.
  15. Address and resolve employee inquiries through the HR requests ticket system.
  16. Support accounting department by addressing payroll tax variances, GL issues, and instant checks.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Payroll Manager position

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 8+ years’ experience managing multi-state payroll and a payroll department.
  3. Supervisory and leadership experience with at least 2 years required.
  4. Experience processing biweekly payroll for 300+ employees.
  5. Proficient with UKG Pro Payroll and UKG Time & Attendance.
  6. Prior experience with HR/Payroll ERP, time and general ledger systems required.
  7. Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels.
  8. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
  9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities.
  11. Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  12. Excellent intrapersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Willing to adapt to changing business needs & deadlines, including extended work hours.
