5 days per week (M-F), during school year (includes 11 holidays) pro-rated per start date.
6.75 hours per day. Time Range : 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM. Estimated start date: Immediate.
Rate of pay: $23.52 - $29.41, depending on prior verified like experience

EDUCATION: Minimum educational requirement is High School diploma or GED certificate and an Associate's Degree or comparable equivalent in related field from an accredited public or non-profit College or University. Vocational/Technical education may apply. At District discretion, related experience may replace required educational requirements.
EXPERIENCE: Two years' relevant health room experience and/or education required (educational office environment preferred). At District discretion, education and/or training may replace required work experience.
DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhere to standards of confidentiality in regard to students and staff.
  • Administer first aid to students under direction/guidance of school nurse.
  • Conduct health screenings, maintain student health records, and administer medication to students under direction/guidance of school nurse.
  • Collect, assess, and input into Skyward individual student immunization data.
  • Conduct checks for pediculosis as necessary.
  • Refer students with health concerns to parents, private or community health resources, school personnel or other appropriate resources, assisting in activities necessary to overcome barriers to healthcare access.
  • Participate on the school district health committee (as needed only during work days).
  • Assist in coordinating school health activities, participating with other members of the school community,
  • families and community resources.
  • Collaborate with and assists school staff to meet the health, safety, developmental and educational needs of
  • students and the school community.
  • Attend and participate in designated meetings/trainings as directed by the supervisor.
  • Travel between schools as needed.
  • Notify appropriate authority immediately in the event of any incident or health issue occurring on school premises.
  • Perform physical tasks, including repeated lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for extended periods.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Assist in maintaining student records at the building level, including scanning and digitally archiving in accordance with Washington State Archives' Records Retention Schedule.
  • Access and work within a computerized student attendance system to accurately track and document student attendance information.
  • Research student record discrepancies and/or documents prior to processing for any action.
  • Assist with school receptionist duties to include phone and visitor information/messages as needed.
  • Assist students with information regarding a wide variety of school-related matters.
  • Assess, interact, exercise discretion and respond to situations involving staff, students, parents, the public and visitors in order to take appropriate action, provide information, facilitate communication among parties, and/or direct to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Direct student workers to assure quality performance and oversee that accurate information is exchanged.
  • Receive, receipt, deposit, and electronically record General Fund and ASB monies in accordance with District policy and procedures.
  • Administer medication and first aid as required to meet the immediate health care needs of students within the scope of District policies.
  • Develop, research and maintain documents, files and records as directed. font-size: 8pt">Plan, compose and prepare written material as directed.
  • Coordinate and monitor assigned building activities as directed. font-size: 8pt">Assist building administrators in maintaining up-to-date building web information.
  • Process and maintain all work in accordance with District, State and Federal rules, regulations, policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Assist other office personnel as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to communicate and carry out District/building rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Possess competent record keeping skills.
  • Possess proficient computer skills/experience including word processing, spreadsheet and other technological skills as requested.
  • Ability to access and work within computerized data systems.
  • Proficient accounting skills to include knowledge of rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write and compute per needs of position.
  • Proficient in composing and preparing letters and reports inclusive of accurate use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Possess competent organizational skills.
  • Possess effective communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve as needed.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff and the general public.
  • Ability to accurately read, understand, interpret and follow written/oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly having minimum supervision in a very close office setting.
  • Ability to work within the constraints of constant interruption, meet deadlines, perform under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to operate technological equipment and other office machines/equipment as required

  • Ability to update skills as required.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance according to established work schedule is required.
