As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Business Partner is responsible for serving as the primary Human Resources representative in the market, supporting our company leaders and employees in achieving goals and objectives.

Position responsibilities:
- Promote Employee Engagement: Coordinate events and activities that celebrate our company culture and support community engagement.
- Support Onboarding and Training: Facilitate new employee onboarding and support ongoing training and development programs through Johnstone University and other providers. Coordinate training plans, monitor progress, and assist leaders in evaluating employee growth.
- Enhance Performance Management: Communicate job expectations clearly, coordinate goal setting and review processes, and support leaders in providing constructive feedback to enhance employee success. Ensure all coaching is compliant with company policies.
- Support a Positive Work Environment: Serve as the local HR point of contact, resolving employee issues and concerns in a safe and supportive manner. Conduct initial investigations and propose solutions, elevating issues to Corporate when necessary.
- Recruit and Hire Top Talent: Partner with leaders to recruit, assess, and hire qualified candidates, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Develop and implement recruiting strategies across various platforms to attract top talent. Coordinate the entire hiring process, from interviews to background checks, ensuring accuracy in our Applicant Tracking System.
- Coordinate Payroll and Benefits: Ensure accurate submission of new hire and job change information for payroll processing. Support leaders and employees in timecard submission and provide assistance with benefits enrollment and leave administration.
- Contribute to Success: Be ready to offer your services wherever needed to ensure the success of Johnstone Supply's endeavors.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Human Resources Management; at least 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply human resource management principles, including recruiting, hiring, compensating, training and orienting, coaching, and managing the performance of employees.
- Knowledge of and ability to use current HRIS platforms; previous experience with ADP is preferred, but not required for this role.
- Ability to use current Microsoft Office software.
