What You'll Get to Do:

  1. Perform logistics engineering activities and assist as a technical resource from a program’s concept and proposal phases through development, test, production, and post-production support phases.
  2. Serve as the Logistics/Sustainability point of contact (POC) for assigned programs and integrate into program and engineering teams.
  3. Support logistics design influence efforts and activities necessary to meet system performance requirements.
  4. Analyze and interpret technical data (e.g., drawings, manuals, specifications, etc.) to develop technical and logistics data.
  5. Create/update relevant reports such as task analysis, maintenance plans, or provisioning requirements reports.
  6. Perform/develop/update Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  7. Develop maintenance concepts to ensure the most affordable and effective mission readiness solution.
  8. Develop/execute plans for Technical Publications/training materials.
  9. Plan/execute activities that sustain the operation and maintenance of systems to ensure mission readiness.
  10. Be an engaged and versatile team member of the Integrated Logistics Support team seeking to continuously improve upon existing practices.
  11. Conduct logistics analyses using engineering background, analytical skills, and knowledge of a wide array of industry tools.
  12. Perform Human Factors analysis on maintenance and operation activities and end items.
  13. Develop/update Packaging, Handling, Shipping & Transportation (PHS&T) and Demilitarization plans.

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Logistics Systems Engineer:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of engineering experience or 6 years with a Master's; 13 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  2. Experience in Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Reliability, Maintainability, or other logistics related discipline.
  3. Experience in developing/generating various types of logistics supportability analysis.
  4. Experience in developing and delivering Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  5. Knowledge of analyzing data/trend analysis or databases for tracking logistics and inventory.
  6. Familiar with military maintenance and sustainment support.
  7. Experience in leading and monitoring assigned tasks.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to interface directly with internal program office and external customers.
  9. Possess active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years).
  10. US Citizenship required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.
  2. Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support.
  3. Engineering design background generating new designs, models, and drawings.
  4. Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives that drive change in an organization.
  5. Experience supporting procurement activities to meet demanding build schedules.
  6. Experience developing LSA products in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, GEIA-STD-0007 or MIL-PRF-49506 in LSA database tools such as EAGLE or SLICwave.
  7. Familiarity with other logistics tools such as Vmetric, EDCAS, COMPASS, CASA, etc.
  8. Understanding of repair level analysis and life cycle cost modeling.
  9. Previous experience using LSA data to develop either technical data, technical publications, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETMs), or training products.

Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
