Android Engineer

Talex is seeking a talented and passionate engineer to lead our work on mobile and device apps, OTT solutions, and the Brightspot mobile framework.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement key parts of the Brightspot Android platform and applications.
2. Work with external partners to define and productize the latest solutions on Android.
3. Develop technical solutions that scale across a wide range of Android devices (certified and AOSP).
4. Contribute to shared framework layer to be used with Android, Kindle, and other device platforms.

Qualifications:

1. Proficient in Java & C/C++ with strong object-oriented design skills.
2. Experience with Android SDK, NDK and JNI.
3. Knowledge of Android software design patterns.
4. Great understanding of the Android framework internals and AOSP code.
5. Portfolio of published apps.
6. Able to work independently and drive results.
7. BS degree in computer science or equivalent, and at least 6 years of experience working on Android-based products.

Bonus if you have experience with any of the following:

1. Shipping and maintaining a high-volume Android application.
2. High-level streaming protocols (DASH, HLS).
3. EGL and OpenGL ES.
4. Low-level networking (modem stack, cellular protocols).
5. Javascript.
6. Android UI.
7. AB testing.
