About the Role
THE POSITION
The Client & Product Strategy (CPS) team informs the firm’s strategy and resource allocation. The team serves as the firm's center of excellence for industry and competitive insights, supporting strategic projects across the firm, and is responsible for product and fund development, product prioritization, sales campaigns, and business planning for the Client Platform.
The Director of Client and Product Strategy will combine analytical skills, project management, industry insights, investment acumen and strategic vision to shape the firm’s product offerings and drive growth. In partnership with the Head of CPS and Director of Product Development, this role will manage projects for senior leaders, contribute to new product development and evolve Wellington’s approach to using competitive data to drive sales.
Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Partnering with the Head of CPS to develop measurable new ways to drive sales growth using competitive data.
- Partnering with the Head of Product Development to develop new products and funds and develop processes to support product and fund prioritization and launch decisions.
- Leading complex strategic projects for senior Wellington leaders to provide data-driven insight and aid decision making.
- Maintaining deep understanding of client needs, competitive dynamics, regulatory trends, and market movements across multiple asset classes, including Alternatives.
- Developing next generation talent within the CPS function through our apprenticeship model.
- Identifying opportunities for growth and scale across the product and fund platform.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in, and deep knowledge of, the asset management industry. Likely including experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, competitive intelligence and/or industry research.
- Demonstrable project management skills.
- Ability to translate complex strategic questions into specific and actionable analysis.
- Ability to influence leaders across the organization, leveraging industry expertise, data-driven insights and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and flexible approach.
- Comfort with consensus-based decision making.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Compensation
At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. We strive to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is: USD 100,000 - 225,000.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/or Incentives, if eligible.
