ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Head of Product Marketing’s purpose is to own the strategy, development and execution of marketing initiatives that drive product adoption, customer retention and revenue growth. By developing a deep understanding of the commercial real estate market, property searchers and property listers, the Head of Product Marketing will ensure prospects and customers know and understand the LoopNet product offering – what it is, what it’s for, and how it can help them.

This is a leadership position with the marketing department, reporting into the Vice President and overseeing several direct reports.

Success will rely on leading a range of product marketing projects to help the business achieve its goals, including:

  • Gathering, analyzing and distributing insights from target customer groups through market research, surveys and other techniques
  • Developing the product marketing strategy in alignment with the business objectives and through collaboration with stakeholders
  • Crafting value proposition messaging and activation plans
  • Standing up campaigns to build product awareness, inform and engage the target audience with content which effectively communicates our value proposition
  • Content production and distribution to meet the information needs of prospects and customers at different stages of their life cycle, based on real insights from the audience members themselves
  • Building a suite of world-class product collateral and sales enablement materials
  • Working hand in hand with the product design team; planning and executing product launches; gathering product feedback and influencing the product roadmap on the customer’s behalf

This role offers a schedule of 4 days onsite and 1 day remote in our Richmond, VA office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This diverse leadership role is responsible for successfully delivering the following outcomes:

  • Build an A-grade product marketing team within the marketing department
  • Achieve set targets for product awareness and sentiment, as measured by market research, benchmarking, and messaging reach & engagement KPIs
  • Increase customer satisfaction as measured by NPS, renewal and retention rates, and rates of repeat custom
  • Successfully deliver product launches and product marketing campaigns, in line with set KPIs goals including reach, frequency, engagement, and conversion into down-stream sales results including prospecting, lead generation and revenue acquisition
  • Grow market penetration and market share
  • Support other areas of marketing operations (e.g. performance marketing, brand, lifecycle) with product marketing content and assets
  • Own the product marketing budget
  • Ensure the robust reporting of product marketing activities and outcomes

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
  • Track record of commitment to prior employee
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B product marketing roles
  • 5+ years of experience in people-management roles
  • Experience with coaching up a team of A-grade performers, getting the best out of the team through mentoring, candid constructive feedback, leading by example, and inspiring those around you
  • Experience with translating business needs, audience insights and product roadmap into sensible, effective marketing plans
  • Experience understanding the target audience, their behaviors, preferences and their reasons for buying
  • Strong communication skills – be a diplomat, liaising with different stakeholders across departments including sales, product and other business units
  • Experience with parsing information into effective branded communications; strong copywriting skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Data-centric roles - data-oriented with bias towards a data-first approach to establish facts and making decisions

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in the commercial real estate sector, or at an online marketplace business, or an online advertising technology company
  • Experience in an international business with expanding global operations
