We have a 1099 contractor opportunity with a Pomeroy client for a hybrid IT Service Desk Technician in Mason, OH. The IT Service Desk Technician will provide first level support and excellent customer service for technical infrastructure including Windows devices, mobile devices, desk phones, printers, networking devices, end user applications and services.

Rate: $18.50/hr

Schedule: The first 3 weeks will be in-person training. Once training has been completed, you will work a hybrid schedule: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote. After 30 days will come back in for a week for uptraining.

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 9:30am to 6pm

Contract Duration: 01/31/2025 (potential extension)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides user support for computer systems and standard corporate software products.
  • Provides comprehensive local and remote technical support for corporate colleagues.
  • Configure and install a broad range of new and used computer equipment and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot an assortment of technical issues with the assistance of peers and vendors.
  • Conduct user training on various technical-related topics when needed.
  • Assist in moving, adding or changing user workstations and peripherals as needed.
  • Effectively prioritize support issues and tasks by documenting assigned help desk requests and following up on unresolved issues.
  • Assists in development of corporate policies, procedures, and standards for user support, PC hardware and software, and office automation strategy.
  • Coordinate handling of all PC requests. This includes the evaluation of the desired application and suitability to PC usage, determining proper configuration, purchasing, and deployment of solution.
  • Provides support for operating systems, virus scanning, malware and spyware removal, data recovery, and proper archive procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows – able to troubleshoot application installs, windows machine system configurations (standard CPU and laptop)
  • Basic Technical knowledge of PC Hardware (knowledge of CPU, monitor, basic hardware connectivity)
  • Basic Hardware and software application trouble shooting skills
  • Strong empathy skills/retail background preferred

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:

  • Computer hardware: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Software troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred)
