REPORTS TO: Managing Director of School Strategy

POSITION TYPE: 12-month

START DATE: Immediate hire

COMPENSATION: $60,818 - $72,981, Home Office Grade 5

THE OPPORTUNITY

YES Prep needs a dynamic Manager of School Strategy with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. The Manager of School Strategy will play a pivotal role in executing the vision and tasks set forth by the Managing Director of School Strategy to ensure all relevant stakeholders have the information necessary to be an A-district with all A and B schools. This position requires a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Power BI, and strong project management skills to support data management, compliance, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

THE ROLE

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:

Data Analysis and Support

  • Collaborate with the Program Success teams for Elementary and Secondary education to support and enhance Schools data strategy;
  • Work closely with the Managing Director of School Strategy to implement and execute data initiatives that align with organizational goals;
  • Create and manage robust data analysis structures to ensure that Schools team members have access to critical data and trends;
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Power BI to develop data visualization and tracking tools that support campuses and individual staff needs;
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy across all data management systems;
  • Oversee data analysis projects that support Schools and campus leaders in understanding their data;
  • Conduct detailed data analyses to identify trends, gaps, and areas of concern, providing actionable insights to support decision-making;
  • Contribute to action plans that address data gaps and improve overall data utilization within the organization;
  • Maintain expertise and up to date information on all accountability information released from TEA;
  • Assist the Managing Director of School Strategy in leading the monitoring, understanding, and informing Schools Team and campus leaders in response to decisions by the Texas Education Agency and Texas legislature that impacts school policy;
  • Work with the Managing Director of School Strategy and Managing Directors of Program Success to propose campus annual goals and the systems and processes that support campus achievement of these goals;

Staff Training and Support

  • Support the Managing Director of School Strategy in executing training and development around accountability and data strategy to Home Office and Campus leaders;
  • Provide training as needed to Schools and campus leaders to analyze data and create action plans;
  • Participate in working groups and cross-functional meetings, providing support and contributing to discussions and initiatives;
  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization to align efforts with campus and organizational goals that impact student achievements;
  • Work in partnership with the Compliance and Data & Analytics Teams on project accountability to ensure Schools and campuses comply with state, federal, and TEA policies and laws;
  • Work alongside the Managing Director of School Strategy to ensure all PEIMS submission deadlines are met by members of the Schools Team;

Data Management & Compliance:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of campus goals in collaboration with the Managing Director of School Strategy;
  • Create, manage, and maintain data tracking tools using Excel and Power BI to monitor progress towards goals and evaluate the effectiveness of goal-related actions;
  • Execute data analysis frameworks created by the Managing Director of School Strategy to support Schools and campus leaders in understanding data and creating action plans to address gaps;

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage strategic projects and initiatives as directed by the Managing Director of School Strategy;
  • Monitor and support PK-12 projects and initiatives, including summer student programming and grade transitions;
  • Develop the Campus Needs Assessment and Campus Improvement Plan process in collaboration with Compliance and Schools Team members;
  • Provide training for campus leaders to execute the Campus Needs Assessment process;
  • Monitor completion to ensure Campus Needs Assessment actions are completed by assigned deadlines;
  • Manage the creation of Campus Improvement Plans and communication with campuses and the Compliance Team when they are prepared;
  • Other data and compliance related projects as assigned;
  • Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 5 years of teaching experience and leading.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, influencing, collaborating, and motivating peers and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to analyze data using Excel and Power BI to drive high achievement and results.
  • Deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction, assessments, student culture, and adult development.

  • Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
